In the realm where codes weave dreams and logic reigns,
A woman stands, her spirit untamed,
In halls of tech, where echoes are male,
She carves her path, determined to prevail.
Amid the circuits, bytes, and bits,
A Latina’s courage never quits.
Her voice, a melody in a monotone crowd,
Sings of diversity, strong and proud.
“The Courage to be Disliked,” she claims,
A title worn with honor, not with shame.
For in her quest to break the mold,
She’s learned the truth that’s age-old.
To innovate, one must dare
To be different, to be rare.
Not every eye will see the light,
Not every heart will hold her right.
In whispers, they question her place,
In shadows, they obscure her face.
But with each setback, her resolve grows,
In every failure, her strength shows.
For it’s not in applause where success lies,
But in the quiet of the night,
When she reviews her code, her craft,
Finding in her work, her heart’s draft.
This journey’s hers, not to be liked,
But to fulfill a vision, spike.
To change the world, one line at a time,
To ensure the future is sublime.
So here’s to the women in tech, all so unique,
Who dare to be disliked, who dare to speak.
May we all find the courage, day by day,
To be true to ourselves, come what may.
Note: My goal was to write a poem that captures the essence of overcoming the struggle for acceptance while embracing one’s true self, especially as a woman and Latina in the tech industry.
