International speaker powerhouse, Elaine Montilla is the founder of 5xminority.com, a company and social media brand dedicated to empowering women and minorities, particularly those working in tech. She’s been a featured speaker on the TEDx stage in New York and has taken countless other stages by storm like Adobe’s Design Summit, the Wolves Summit in Poland, WITI, the World Woman Future Forum, the World Happiness Foundation, the ACM Richard Tapia Conference, the Women Transforming Technology Conference, WSIB Ontario, and Parsable!

Elaine is passionate about demonstrating how businesses have the power to be influential platforms that can ignite social change! After working in IT for 20+ years, Elaine saw firsthand that by ensuring your company is reflective of the community that it serves, the voices of each employee can be supported and celebrated daily. Because she speaks from a workplace viewpoint based on her firsthand experience being a part of several minority groups, including being Latina and part of the LGBTQ+ community, she delivers thoughtful conversations and talks about how crucial it is for a workplace to be inclusive of age, religion, gender, identity, and race. Through her talks, she highlights the need for diversity in the field of technology and how STEM needs to be expanded for women and underrepresented minorities.

Throughout her career, she has gathered extensive experience in Educational Technology, IT Strategy, Management, System Deployment, and Project Portfolio Management that she draws on for her speeches. Widely recognized for her work with staff development, change leadership, and her talent for communicating with diverse groups of people, Elaine is a relatable presence that commands the room, while delivering a strong, important message.

While her energy on the stage captivates audiences as small as 8, and as large as 1000+, her stellar work also goes beyond her speaking platform. She’s a proud contributing author to the first edition of Hispanic Stars Rising: A New Face of Power, which showcases leaders with diverse backgrounds, experiences, challenges, and the ongoing contributions being made by this strong and resilient community in the U.S. She also currently balances her public speaking engagements with her work being the Assistant Vice President and CIO for Information Technology at The Graduate Center, CUNY. As if that wasn’t enough already, she still finds the time to serve as a Forbes Technology Council member and contributor and is an AMA Women’s Leadership Center presenter.
